Temple Rodef Shalom welcomes you to the DC metropolitan area! We look forward to celebrating Shabbat and participating in the March for Our Lives with you on Friday, March 23, and Saturday, March 24.

Temple Rodef Shalom is located close to West Falls Church Metro which will provide easy access to the city on the day of the march. For those of you traveling by motor coach, we can provide overnight parking for your buses.

Registration Information

We ask that congregation designated youth professionals register for their students. Please make sure that your students arrive with enough chaperones to keep us all safe and to make the evening a success! A ratio of 1 adults to 10 students is suggested. Please RSVP by Tuesday, March 20. If you have any questions, please contact Nathan Smuckler, nsmuckler@templerodefshalom.org.

We will provide, at no charge, a modest Shabbat dinner, snacks and beverages for late-night noshing, and bagels and schmear for Saturday morning.

Registrants are asked to provide their own sleeping bags. We hope to be able to provide cots for registrants; but, please be aware you may be sleeping on the floor! Males and females, per their identification, will be separated during the overnight hours. A private space will be available for gender fluid individuals if they so desire. Gender-neutral bathrooms will be available. No showers will be available. Luggage arrangements can be made by reaching out to Nathan Smuckler, nsmucker@templerodefshalom.org

Program Information

Shabbat services on Friday, March 23, begin at 8:00 PM. Our congregant, Josh Horwitz, will be speaking at services and will make himself available to all visiting youth after services. Josh is the Executive Director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence. The coalition is a nationally recognized gun violence prevention education and advocacy group.

After services, the Temple will provide activities some of which are to be determined; but, we will certainly have food, music, and supplies to make signs for the March!

We look forward to making you comfortable in our Temple home! All guests must depart by 9:00 am, Saturday, March 24.
